USED is pronounced : /ju:st/

USE:

USED+TO is  used to talk about

1. Past habits which are now finished.

Imagine that when you were younger you played chess, or football... and now  you donīt play it any more.This is when we use the form "used to".

I used to play football when I was younger. = it implies that now you donīt play.

2. Past states and situations which are no longer true.

Imagine that when you were younger, you were fat.

             I used to be very fat when I was at school

. ..Or that you had a beautiful bicycle you were very proud of

             I used to have a beautiful bicycle everybody envied but somebody stole it
